Before I get to the reason for this post, I want to give you a little view into my background. From a very young age, I have always been strong willed. My father, who I will refer to as LB Sr, told me that as long as I lived under his roof, I would vote Democrat. Me being a young lad who tried to obey his father, didn’t give it a second thought. As I got older, (10) I started to gather my own thought’s on what I should do. I noticed that not much was accomplished by our government. My feelings were it was because partisan politics. You scratch my back I’ll scratch yours.LB Sr and myself would have several discussions about the subject. He would not budge on his stance. Like most kids, I thought I knew everything and my dad knew nothing. But, as I found out later, my Pops knew quite a bit and quite a few important people. He was the union steward for the Steel Workers Union 1028 here in Duluth. The union would sponsor parties for all the union members children. We would have a Saturday movie at a local theater or a Christmas party just before Santa’s day. They would have candy and prises for us and we had a lot of fun.The one thing that I didn’t know was, that all the people that my father would introduce me to were so famous. On one given Saturday, I got to shake hands with a guy who, at the time, was a very important politician. His name was Hubert H Humphrey. That same day I was introduced to another important figure by the name of Walter Mondale and a local senator by the name of Willard Munger. I had a ton of respect for Mr Munger. He was about as liberal as anyone I’ve met. He was always lobbying for environmental issues.I helped my brother with his bait shop which was across the street from Sen. Munger’s business. He would call on a rainy day, when business was very slow, and invite me over for a game of checkers. Yes CHECKERS. He let me win the first game we ever played, after that he owned me. I think I was hustled, but he served a mean breakfast, so I figured we were even. I think you can see a slight Democratic influence.
There were several sports figures that I got to shake hands with at the union parties. Alan Page, Carl Eller, Bill Brown and several more from the Twins and the Vikings, too many to mention here.
I brag to my kids about all the important people I had met with my Dad. They have no clue who I’m talking about.
Now, back to the topic at hand. With me being neither an Ultra Liberal, nor a Neo Con, I pretty much ride the fence as far as politics go. I agree with both sides on several ideals. I thought Rush Limbaugh was an idiot for the way he would bash then President Clinton. I just don’t see what any of us get out of this.
Now we have Keith Olbermann. I watch his show and get a very bad taste in my mouth. He and his show are devoted to bashing people who do something that, apparently can’t do, report the news. From O’Reilly to McCain. For one thing, I think that both candidates (Obama and McCain) are running a very respectable campaigns. I also watch Fox News and shake my head. I don’t have an agenda here, I just get tired if mindless TV.
My thoughts are, if you haven’t watched Glenn Beck’s show on the same network as Olbermann’s, check it out. His show has content that has some value to the viewer. He is a breath of fresh air. Not the stale crap that Keith and Rush spew. We as a country, need to wake up and smell the crap.
So, boycott MSNBC, NBC, RCA and any other sub of these guys, except Beck’s show.
I feel like a dick, Glenn’s show is on CNN. Sorry!!!!!

Well, at least someone’s got an idea how to get this country turned around. We all need to pay attention to what this man has to say.
