We’ll have a western theme so dig out your bandannas, cowboy boots, hats and flannel shirts for the best western costume contest. Bake an apple pie for the apple pie contest or volunteer to be a judge. Kids, bring along your lassos, water pistols and marbles for some games.

Kilowatt Kampers Fall Kampout Koming Up

”Kilowatt Kampers is looking for new members. We’re a group

of NU employees and retirees–and a few Yankee Gas employees

who worked for NU before the spinoff occurred–who get

together two weekends a year to camp,” Cindy Janke, the

Regional Operations Center Engineer at Brush Hill, told

NusLine.

Janke is Wagon Master for the 22nd Annual Fall Kampout and

is inviting all NU employees, retirees and their families to

join in the fun. The compost will be held September 9-11 at

Windy Acres Campground in Westhampton, Massachusetts. Cost

is $38 plus a dessert for Friday and a pot luck dish for

Saturday. The campground has electric and water hookups,

freshwater swimming, a camp store, playground and pavilion.

“We’1l have a western theme’s Janke said, also people should

think of dressing in terms of cowboy boots, flannel shirts

and bandannas. We’11 have a ‘western costume’ contest and

an apple pie contest. Plus we’ll have games for kid’s

Kilowatt Kampers’ first compost was held in July 1973 in

Massachusetts. Last month’s compost in North Stonington

Connecticut, was the group’s forty-second.

According to Janke, the spring carport is usually held in

Connecticut and the fall compost is usually held in

Massachusetts. ”But now that PSNH has joined NU, we may

start a summer comport in New Hampshire if there is enough

interest,” she said.
