25th Anniversary Kilowatt Kampout
June 12 – 14, 1998 This 25th anniversary weekend outing was quite a weekend! It rained, and it rained, and it rained some more! As bad as the rains came down, we were blessed to be able to enjoy our Friday night gathering without rain, and even had our traditional campfire where most of the gang was able to just sit and chat.
It was such a pleasure to see some of the original members of the ”Kilowatters”.
On Saturday, everyone did their own thing, although with all the rain, some of the gang headed home as the puddles grew bigger and bigger. The McAllister’s and Scheer’s headed home, as well as the Wrona’s Santos’, and Janke’s The wind did a number on the Russo’s awning so they headed home as well. Don Faford and his son were tenting but they ventured home Friday night when the rains came! It was just a mess! On Saturday afternoon, Diane & Bob Golden visited with the group. Again, when it was time to gather for our Saturday evening cookout, it was not raining so everyone that was left enjoyed the get- together. Hot dogs, hamburgers, along with everyone’s salads etc. were enjoyed by all, as well as the beautiful 25th anniversary cake for all to share. A brief reading of Kilowatt trivia from the past 25 years was read by Dick Ruff. It was fun to reminisce as many folks added to the details.
Again, the sun came out in time for our regular breakfast gathering with wagonmasters Art Dery and Dick Rtltf pleased to announce that Shelly & Lenny Nash will host the next fall campout Everyone prepared to head out once again after a very wet but fun weekend.

The fall 1991 carport at Shady Pines, in Savoy, Mass sounded quite interesting. Wagonmasters, the Devine’s, made homemade donuts on- site, the ladies made jewelry from wallpaper, kids did pumpkin carvings. A halloween costume parade marched to the rec hall dance.

Sept ’97 Kampout took 9 rigs up to Camperama in Townshend, VT. Fun & games were enjoyed by all. Kids searched for coins in sawdust, adults enjoyed the water balloons; but were spared of the egg toss when the rains came. Our traditional potluck supper was held in the rec hall where we celebrated a few birthdays.
And now here we are with our 25th anniversary year and 50th kampout!!! Let’s all make it a good one & enjoy the weekend!
